Delicious! We were blown away with how tasty this place was. We had Causa, Aji Gallina (nice spice), and the fish, loved the crusty seasoning and perfectly cooked. The dishes were superb and it was some of the best Causa I've ever had. I'm already planning a return trip. The server was informative, super pleasant and was not pushy. It is a cute small restaurant for fine dining.

Ok, Im not sure what to say that could explain the wonderful experience that I had. The food was delicious, flavor was on point. The Chef stopped in to say high, I love the place. I was told they are moving to the Holiday Inn Resort in Ocala, I can't wait. Thats spot is nice. I definitely recommend This spot to everyone.

I’ve dined at this location at least 2-3 dozen times. I remember showing up hoping to eat at what was Sabores Latinos and disappointed that place was gone, but I was quickly won over. This place is great and it has gotten significantly better over time. At first, there were missed or incorrect orders but I haven’t had that happen in a long time. Orders used to take a much longer time. They still take longer than other places but it is reasonable for what you get. It’s not fast food. It’s a fantastic dining experience where everything is made to order. The chef is a real pro. Everything is top notch as far as quality and freshness. Plating is beautiful. It’s has been fun to watch this place evolve and grow. The addition of pizza was an amazing surprise. I did not think a Peruvian restaurant would/could serve great pizza but was proven wrong. The pizzas are top tier. I had never tried fried pizza before but it was awesome. The Americana is still the king(new York style pepperoni pizza with a perfect crust). One always has to judge a Peruvian restaurant by its papa a la huancaina. This place did not disappoint with that beautiful sauce. The fried rice(chaufa) is always cooked and seasoned beautifully. The lomo saltado is the best I’ve tried including NYC and Orlando locations. I enjoyed the ceviche the one time I had it. The calamari and jalea mixta are to die for (definitely the only way I’ve gotten my kids to eat fish). Too bad the pescado chicharron is gone. The tallarin verde is great. I really wish they did the green rice and chicken (maybe one day). I hope the pescado alo macho makes a comeback. Aji de gallina and escabeche are probably my favorites off the current menu. The soups are hearty and well seasoned. The alfajores weren’t my favorite but that’s likely because they’re different than what I’m used to(these are more chewy whereas I’m use to the flaky kind). The chocolate cake was dense and chocolaty without being too sweet. The tres leches was less like the typical yellow cake and more of a pound cake or scone but stellar. The fried ice cream was AWESOME. I’m use to the Japanese style. This was more like an ice cream beignet and so much better. I had the tiramisu today and enjoyed it. The wine selection is impressive for the small location. It’s a weird reference but I feel like this is the Led Zeppelin of restaurants. The songs remain the same but don’t always sound exactly the same. I’m a fan of those surprises and it shows the passion of the chef. Not everything on the menu is always available, but I suspect it’s to maintain the highest standard of freshness that I’ve come to expect. Nicole is an amazing server and very attentive. The music and ambience is soothing and welcoming. This place deserves a lot more love from Ocala.

I've never had a bad meal here and I'm happy to say I'm privileged to have had several at Taverna Berrocal. The cozy atmosphere makes you a part of the cooking experience. It's be torture to smell all of that food close at hand if they didn't deliver on flavor every time. The chef is knowledgeable about cuisine and inspired in his dishes. I've always received great service and interactions. They will remain a regular in my rotation of excellent places to dine.

This is the only Peruvian restaurant in all of Ocala- A rare gem! I am from Miami, where I am used to so many Peruvian places to eat, so when I say this place is delicious, please come out and give it a try. Nice little cozy setting; seating isn’t ample. Lomo Saltado is made with filet mignon and the ceviche tasted very fresh. The seafood chaufa and jalea mixta were delicious as well. Service was very accommodating with my nephew’s nut allergy and the waitress was very kind. The place is a little expensive compared to Miami prices for Peruvian food because the chef really has no competition. You want high quality lomo saltado, you have to go to him. But I think it’s worth it as a treat once every so often. I am definitely coming back here every time I visit Ocala. Hopefully the restaurant can grow and get a bigger location in the future; wish them many success.

Taverna Berrocal is a diamond in the rough. What I mean by this is that this is phenomenal food in an unconventional location. The food is as world class as it gets! Credits to the chef for a delicious menu. My wife and I shared the Chicken Chicharron for an Appetizer, I had the Seafood Saltado while she had the classic Peruvian Dish, Lomo Saltado. All three dishes were top notch paired with a Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon from Argentina called Sur de los Andes. I will be going back here to try their entire menu when given the opportunity, it is that good!

This was our first visit to Taverna. We decided to go for a special anniversary dinner. We were blown away by the food! We started with chef's choice appetizer. Very lightly breaded, tender calamari. Hubs selected the beef, and I went directly for the seafood. Everything was superbly seasoned. The fish filet was perfectly cooked along with shrimp, mussels (to die for!), and scallops. The chef came to our table and told us about the food...all made by him in house. We ended with decadent desserts. Also, the presentation of each dish was beautiful. We could not have selected a better dining experience. Highly recommend Taverna Berrocal!
